No, I'd say the most powerful were is a Volkolak.
A werewolf that has died without curing the curse and reawakened as one of the undead. All of the strengths of a vampire and werewolf, none of the weaknesses, and immortal to boot.

The Rus tribe were vikings, but not Norsemen. They migrated away from Scandanavia and headed toward Eastern Europe and eventually Russia, which basically means "Land of the Rus".
They were some terrifying dudes. Like the backwoods cannibal psycho cousins of the Vikings.

Now, personally I don't think werepyre's are all that awesemundo. I prefer Dracomancers, people who can shift into dragons. So going along that line, I must agree with Raziel's previous post. :-D

The dracomancers shift due to magic, not through infection..... so they don't count pet.

That depends on your perspective of Lycanthropy. I personally don't think it is an infection. I think that myth arose from rabies & stuff. REAL Lycanthropy is like when Shamans perform rituals to connect with the inner wolf, & stuff.

And, in fact, lycanthropy has only been passed on by infection in popular culture in the last 50 years, if that.
That is present nowhere in legends about lycanthropes.
Medieval tales of werewolves say it was a human born that way, or someone that used a special ointment and the skin of a wolf or wolf-skin belt. Some even made pacts with the Devil to become werewolves.
So before Hollywood stepped in, the werewolf condition was entirely magical, and had nothing to do with infection.
