Demonology... Not exactly a high school subject... Most new members seem to gravitate to this topic. What brought you here? How did you find yourselves discussing ths particularly "taboo" subject? How do you define "demonology" in a personal sense?

In my case, I started poking around here as sort of a mythological curiosity. I'm really interested in the pantheon of Heaven and Hell and their respective members. It started with reading Dante and just sort of grew from there. I view this forum as sort of a "know thy enemy."

After a while, it also became one of the sections of this forum that has the better debates, so I frequent it. With people like Jordyn, ZRY, Morticia, DV, Seeker, LD50, Phantom X and many others always chiming in with great comments, there is always something interesting to read.

*sheepish grin*

I found this place searching for pics of mythological beasts and *ahem* Godzilla!  I'm a big fan of both and doing a search I stumbled onto it.  I really like some of the debates we get into here.  I like being able to talk (and witness to) types of people who wouldn't normally give me the time of day.

I try to avoid the ranks of demonology for right now.  I've been a Christian for about 8 years now and not quite sure I'm ready to go hitting that hornets nest with a stick yet.  I must admit I'm EXTREMELY curious about it but have a nagging feeling that I'm not ready to look.

Good question DV

Well, if your asking how I found the site, its a funny story. I was active on this one forum for about a year and a half when I got this huge feeling of something bad going on. I posted on there warning everyone but as normal people go, they thought I was crazy. So I sulked around for about a week when someone new had posted a similar feeling and warning. So I got into contact with this person and we began to argue, as he told me he was a mere empath and no where near my capabilities, which I later found out we were equal. Anyways, after my anger got the best of me and I let out I would strike him down with lightning he realized my gift and we became instant friends. He told me of this forum and wanted to know if I was interested and I told him sure. Well, I later found out his name was Shadowling on here and he was a highly powerful and respectable person. Then I met all you nuts and havent been able to leave since. Now why I came to browse this particular section was because I always got a chill down my spine (and still do) when I looked at it. I still cant read in this place for more than a half hour without getting the whillies.

funny enough, my daughter.  She was looking for information on loch ness monsters and dinosaurs, she had to show me.

the forum perked my interest, especially this section...i've always been fascinated by demonology, but never found a forum to discuss the applications of, that wasn't associated with some form of organized, usually fundamental religion.

my belief in them is not based on anything religious, but their relation to humanity is always good for discussion, and religion is a major aspect of humanity.

I came here after years of feeling like I was the only weird person alive.   I was raised staunchly Christian but found the spirituality was missing for me. I have been "oppressed" in the past so I know what that power feels like.  I never fit in and this was before it was cool to be "dark".  I look for answers and I want to know who has the real power, so, I search.

I first found montrous when researching angel and demon ranks.  Unable find other sites with more information on the 10 Evil Sephiroth, I joined the forum hoping that someone could guide me in the right direction.  After posing my question, I browsed some of the other topics and found that the members here actually possess an intellectual capacity missing from most of my barfly companions I have here at school.  The deep discussions of theory and belief drew me in and I was further impressed to find little to no comments littered with the internet abbreviations "lol" "omfg" or "wth" which so frequently appear elsewhere online (I can't stand that).  Not to mention, most of the people are here are cordial and open to talking to anyone, which I find refreshing.  And lastly, the university I attend has a notoriety to be more of a party school then anything, if I were to attempt to start a converstion about theology or anything more challenging then "did you see how drunk Jenny was last night?" I would only arouse strange stares or apathetic comments.  Not to say I don't know how to have a good time and don't appreciate the friends I have at school, this forum is just a nice escape for me from the dull haze that is normal college life from time to time.

Or in the words of my fellow undergrads,
"I came for the beer and stayed for the chicks, dude!"

ah.. I don't know why but in my previous post I was ragging on the use of internet slang and "wt" + "f" was changed to "wthey".  I suppose that's an attempt to curve foul language.  Well, I just wanted to clarify in case anyone was confused and so I don't look like an idiot...

Through a Google search actually using the words "Demonic" and "Demonology".

I am trying to learn more of this subject as well as what exactly distinguishes it from wicca and satanism.  Members of all 3 occults insist they are separate yet in my early research I have only seen minimal evidence of this.  I personally believe they are each their own, but I need to learn more.

I recently had to leave my job due to some health problems.  While I recover, and I pray to God every day for his help, I plan to go back to an old hobby of mine I neglected in college to the dismay of some of my professors... Writing.  I like to write and I like to create worlds.  I also am quite interested in the occult lifestyle, as an observer, not a participant.  I am also a big fan of Dark Fantasy and just for fun I would like to write some stories dealing with the occult culture with in the Fantasy genre.  Nothing I plan to try to get published, but just to pass the time and lose myself temporarily in another world.  Writing will be my anti-drug.   grin

I have much research to do however for I like to mix some level of accuracy with creativity.

I also look forward to getting know some of you on these forums.

As for me, I found my way here through my own intrest.  It is a certain fascination of mine, that I may learn more of my enemy so that I am more suited to combat it.  In the case of demons and the devil, well I like most have no love for either of the two.  I see no reason to study them if not to vanquish them.
