many types of demons walk this realm mainly in a non-corporial nature, these whisper in our ears thoughts of saddness, doubt, fear, etc.  these lead to obsessions blinding us from our own abilities.  solider demons and arch demons can appear as corporial or as entities posessing people.  as a hunter i have encountered many of both kinds including arch demons and fallen angels, these can be banished or destroyed, unfortunely the whispers never end, this type is the most insidieous
