I'm assuming that's related to the other Mana games?  I never really enjoyed that style of RPG very much, so I probably won't be getting it.  That and I decided not to get a DS 'cause I'm saving for a PS3.  I'd be interested to hear how it is story-wise and battle system-wise against other similar RPGs.

Like you, I am also saving up for PS3, but i can wait a couple of years for the price to drop, more and better games to come out that push the limits of this next gen console, and for the Sony to work out some of the kinks (like that ordeal with the PSP battery).

I'm just waiting for summer to pick up DMC4.  Sadly there haven't been any good rpgs coming out lately that I know about, hence why I'm interested to hear how Children of Mana is.

Some RPGs are stuff like Final Fantasy which has excellent graphics. Children of Mana allows you to play with your freinds via wireless connection. You can visit their world or have them visit yours. This feature is very useful for beating dungeons, which are the battlegrounds, like in many games. The anime cinematics are pretty good for a DS and the story not to shabby either. I just got into this whole RPG thing, being a fan of real time strategies (RTS) like starcraft and WWII shooters like Medal of Honor. The combat system is like that on Zelda the minish cap, you don't take turns attack standing monsters like in Final Fantasy but you run around, slaying them with either a sword, mallet, bow, or flail. You gain levels as you defeat enemies and you can upgrade your weapons and armor to be more powerful. A feature that probably is just in this game is the Gem feature. You get this gem board on which you can place gems to help you out. Some gems help you gain more experience while other raise your health and so forth. In the beginning, you can choose a spirit companion, which is like a fifth weapon, different spirits do different things like heal your character or make you invisible.

I have played this game and beaten it and it was quite satisfying. The combination of a RPG with real time hack and slash was really good. the wide array of monsters was the best i have seen. they were all bad ass, except for the bunnies and flowers (that weren't poisinous). playing with friends make things a whole lot better when clearing a really hard area.  grin
