It would be great if you could take some pics of your most favourite peace of wardrobe. Goth wardrobe.

Piercings and allergies: an advice.
I had many piercings removed because the surgical steel is not compatible with my skin and got me some serious allergies.
I recently had three done, using another kind of metal: titanium. It works and it's worth a try for those who were (are) allergic to the surgical steel.
Another advice: even though silver or white gold are beautiful to watch, people who tend to be allergic to metals must avoid them. They cause serious pain and make the skin goes septic.

I dress in black and I still listen to dark and cold wave (among other things) but I don't consider myself as a goth .... I think there are several different styles to be considered in this broad category ....

BTW, do you know any good online shop to buy that kind of stuff ?

I see you all are talking about me and everyone else that is gothic, ooh I feel loved. blush bat

I'm goth inside, given the liberty I'm goth in trends - as I've been ever since the age of twelve.
I'm a Addams fan ever since young, and that little girl in "beeltejuice" as well. Maybe they affected me to be the cause of my lifestyle or its just me.
Gothic is a way to express myself through out the fashion, art, literature and etc. Naturally I'm myself confortable this way, even though I'm banned from the society no matter what I do. (Not that I care anyways flylicker)

Maybe I am a monster goth-just crazy for collecting monster figures, horror books & films but no-way extreme. Dark velvety clothing but otherwise pretty square. I do like the music but it is my passion for movie monsters (or any monsterous looking guy) that is the only far-out taste for me. clown

The gothic mindset is usually categorized with a rebellious nature, anger at another subculture or just the world in general, despair, depression, and an entirely carefree attitude.  I've known some to be friendly to anyone, and others to be reclusive.  There is, however, no way to say "this is how you have to act, think, and feel" to be goth.  What I just said was my own observation of the typical.  Basically, if you truthfully feel yourself drawn to the macabre and despairing, you're probably goth.  There are plenty of posers that do it for attention.  If you're one of them, please note that there are PLENTY of better ways to get attention.

I'd also like to throw it out there that many goths, in my experience, are very 'arty', if yu can understand that.  Poetry, short stories, music, and regular painting/drawing.

Well we all know goths is a broad term for many subcultures but the gothic movement in art tended to be about being more light than dark.  The european churches prove this.  So i have an open question why is everyone so dark now with the thoughts of being a goth.  Being gothic should be about being the light of society even if you have to go against the norms.  The style and the music are subculture elements.  Correct me if I am wrong, i emplore you.

I think the art term, & architect term for goth is completely different from actually goths, AI the dark makeup, clothes, piercings. Yes? No?  huh

It would be impossible for Goth subculture to be that different of the origins of medieval age.... the root is the same, as is the message.

Also, the darkness of that age has transformed to darkness of this, so the followers of the principle adapted to its new float.  The difference is, that in the medieval gothic age, people were bruised by true illness and plague!  cheesy

This may or may not clear up anything at all.

Sometime in 2004, a friend of mine by the name of Voltaire published a book entitled What is Goth?
Even though it is a very funny book (and one I suggest several people read) it does cover exactly what the title says it will cover. According to him, and again this may or may not help considering his sense of humor, Goth through historical and cultural refrences mean "bright, airy, and enlightening; dark, gloomy, and oppressive; reviled by mainstream and willing to embrace the norm; and pertaining to a Germanic tribe known as the Goths, yet not pertaining to the Goths at all."

As I have said several times, that may or may not have helped, but I figured I'd throw it in and see what people think about that.
