Not the newest game on the block, but I finally got a chance to play it. I found that the only other encounter I have had with a work actually based on H.P. Lovecraft was the sci-fi movie Dagon... (><) come to find out Dark Corners of the Earth and Dagon are based on the same short story called Shadow Over Innsmouth. I didn't hate Dagon... but I must say Dark Corners of the Earth is awsome. I think I might actually have to go and read some stuff by Lovecraft soon! ^_^

Lovecraft is my favorite author. This game and the movie were both based on Shadow Over Innsmouth. But while Dagon was pretty much a movie version of it, Call of Cthulhu is almost a prequel to it, yet is very similar. As for the game itself though, I also got to play it not too long ago and I liked it a lot. It's not a typical first person shooter, in fact you don't get a weapon for a while into the game, but I actually liked that.
