If you read through the Monstropaedia on them, and through this topic area, you'll find that Disney is entirely wrong. What Disney, and consequently most people, regard as 'fairies', are actually, unless I'm mistaken, pixies. But, the true appearance of the Fey isn't marketable to the younger generations, so, they had to make them all pretty and harmless looking.

Well, here's the thing you see. This site didn't get as big and important (on the net, according to Google), by not being sloppy and slack. You can pretty well rest assured that most of the folks here know, or knew, what they're talking about.

As I've said, go through this topic area. Descriptions from a certain former staff member who saw them multiple times, first-hand, abound within it.

P.S. You may as well get used to this form of reasoning from me. I nearly always encourage others to do their own research. The nearly exclusive exception being in areas where they cannot, or where it would do them harm to come into direct or other contact with such knowledge unprepared. Such as when dealing with demons and their kin. A lay person would actually do themselves more harm than good by researching such things. Whereas someone with more experience and more than a little training may navigate through such things in a slightly safer way.

In this case, research into the Fey is alright, so long as you don't attempt contact. So, by all means, rummage through the threads here and see what you can see. You may actually find some of my earliest posts in here, from all those many months ago.

mkay, thanks moloch, i know what u mean about it being better for people to do things for themselves as opposed to other people doing it for them

Moloch is correct, as I am quickly discovering is usually the case. The market friendly "fairies" are in fact Pixies. There are literally thousands of species of Fey each with their own look. Moloch is also correct in warning you not to contact. All Fey love to play pranks on humans & many are not exactly nice creatures.
