Silas M. Newton was born July 19, 1887, in Shelby County, Kentucky. Mr. Newton was a wealthy speculator who claimed that the United States Government was conducting scientific research on flying saucers. Silas Newton was the owner of a small, but active oil producing business in Denver, Colorado and was investigated by the FBI for his several of his business dealings. He was involved in the infamous Aztec "crashed UFO" event.
