A supernatural gangster thriller written by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt.   The tale features two rival gangs who have to join forces to battle a horde of demons who invade their city.

DreamWorks has signed David DiGilio to adapt Oni Press’ graphic novel "The Damned," by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt.

Variety reports Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are set to produce through their DreamWorks-based shingle. Eric Gitter will also producing through his Closed on Mondays Entertainment - the film production arm of Oni Press. Peter Schwerin will executive produce.

The film’s plot is described as a horror-noir style that follows a Los Angeles detective who discovers a new gang with ties to the supernatural has infiltrated the city.

DreamWorks also picked up Oni Press' upcoming graphic novel "The Return of King Doug" as a vehicle for Ben Stiller.
