Moon Bloodgood is in talks for a female lead in McG's Terminator: Salvation – which is scheduled to kick off a new series of films in the franchise.

Bloodgood is in final negotiations to play the role of a veteran member of John Conner’s resistance and will join Christian Bale, Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin on the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rumors had spread across the net that the film was to be delayed or possibly called off, but principal photography is still set to start on May 5th. The film is expected to hit the big screen next summer.

The fourth Terminator flick is directed by Charlie's Angels' McG. It is the first of a new trilogy set in the future and finally telling the story of the war between humans and the Skynet robots.

The first three Terminator films starred the now Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger – who is not expected to appear in the new series. The films featured a Terminator robot traveling back in time to attempt to kill John Connor (the leader of the human resistance), or prevent his existence by killing his mother.
