Superman Returns’ Brandon Routh has signed to return to the world of
comics with Dead of Night – based on the bestselling Italian comic
series "Dylan Dog." The film is in the works through Hyde Park and
Platinum Studios.
Variety reports the film will be directed by Kevin Munroe from a
script by Sahara writers Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly.
Routh will handle the role of a private investigator drawn into the
world of the undead.
“Dylan Dog” was created by Tiziano Sclavi and first published in 1986. The series has been translated into 17 languages.
The film is set to be produced by Hyde Park’s Ashok Amritraj with Platinum's Scott Mitchell Rosenberg - who helped Sony bring the Men in Black franchise to the screen.
Hyde Park's Patrick Aiello will handle executive producing duties with Randy Greenberg.
