Godzilla can also emit atomic energy in all directions from every inch of his body in a short-range pulse. The pulse was first seen in his fight against Biollante. By making his spines glow and gathering enough nuclear power into his body, Godzilla can release a powerful shock wave that is powerful enough to knock over buildings and even multiple enemy Kaiju that have him backed into a corner.
Godzilla used this ability throughout the Heisei Series. He used a more powerful version of it in Godzilla 2000 to kill Orga. In Godzilla: Final Wars, after being surged with Ozaki’s energy, Godzilla uses a nuclear pulse to prevent Kaiser Ghidorah from draining any more of his energy. In Godzilla: King of the Monsters, after absorbing Mothra’s powers, he went thermonuclear and became Burning Godzilla, and used the pulse to kill Titanus Ghidorah, or Monster 0.
In the 1993 Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, Godzilla demonstrated another ability that may have been a variant of his nuclear pulse. After being struck with Mechagodzilla’s Shock Anchor harpoons, Godzilla discharged a form of energy up the cables, severely damaging the robot’s internal mechanisms. Again, this was the only time Godzilla ever used this ability.
Due to its origins, Godzilla is also strengthen by high electric current. When sleeping, energy is usually required to wake him up. When humans use energy-powered weapons to attack , he usually absorbs the energy then reverses it to crush back his enemies.
In the Showa series Godzilla was carnivorous (it is assumed, though he is never seen to eat anything throughout the series) while in the Heisei series it was insinuated that Godzilla feeds on radiation and the more he absorbs, the larger and more powerful he gets. He is seen attacking nuclear powered submarines, and was once revived by a radioactive storm. It has been speculated that his heart is the theoretical equivalent of a power reactor.
